OboeGuru, often simply referred to as Oboe, was one of the first members to receive promotion to (Global) Moderator status in the history of Warboards.

[edit] The Beginning
Oboe was one of the first members of Warboards due to Fenguin's big beaky mouth blabbing about the forum he'd been designing, sneaking in to claim userid #5 while the forum was still in its non-public incarnation. Rumor has it that Fenguin's notorious bleeding anus and quirky behavior resulted from the beating issued by AJ following this incident.

Oboe was responsible for the Members Lounge and Creative Concepts, occasionally stepping into Online Roleplaying to settle disputes before the appointment of Black.Ice as its Moderator, and was instrumental in the formation of the Diplomacy Headquarters, spearheading the perhaps ill-conceived scoring system that has since fallen into disrepair. The system was not perfect, inflating the scores of those who took control of a powerful nation mid-game until the end; Oboe promised to create a new scoring equation to account for trading of leadership, but never completed it before the end of his tenure.

Oboe mysteriously disappeared without a trace from the Warboards community in early 2005. No reason was ever given, and was removed from the Staff due to the inactivity and replaced by the ever-popular Whiteknight. Just as mysteriously, he returned in early 2007. Many things had changed. Old mainstay members had left, many new faces had taken root and bloomed to epic proportions. Apparently a hole was built somewhere. An infection of XTREM KRAZIE had broken out. AJ embraced Firefox. The latter is surely one of the first signs of the apocalypse.

With the promise of a breath of fresh air into the Diplomacy Headquarters, Oboe returned to the Staff. The peasants... really didn't take notice.

Oboe was a prominent figure in ZeroDarkStar's famous (infamous?) Warboards Life comics that were sadly short-lived.

He's so elusive, there's no actual content to this section! Go figure. He has a couple pictures posted in Post Yourself v3, however. The one of him 6-years-old and in a mouse costume is particularly fetching.
