[edit] Who is Neo?
Hey folks! I'm gonna switch to the first person here instead of trying to maintain distance, after all this is my own page here. In the community I'm a moderator for The Nexus (formally Warboards.org), I'm also on staff with the Legacy Network as a Senior Moderator. I've also been known to contribute graphics and other minor things to either community.
Many folks, though, should know me for the services I offer around the community. For years I've had an image host script, ever since I had a website almost. Nowadays there are other services and solutions, but in the past I remember how difficult it was to just get a signature image hosted so I could display it on a forum. Currently I offer a service that hosts more then just images, and more then just a dinky little amount.
In the past couple of years I've started to offer free webhosting, with no catches. How can you get in on this offer you ask? Well I have to, at least, know you. I remember jumping from free website host to free website host when I was younger and I'd like to share what I've got so others can have a presence on the web without annoying ads.
[edit] Real Life
My name is Nick, and currently located in Carmel, Indiana. For those of you who know your geography of the United States, that puts me in the Midwest, more specifically just north of Indianapolis. My age you ask? Well I'm old. Not as old as Nuts (Lackey) but old enough to feel bad when members mention their only 15 or 16.
I like to consider myself witty, which certainly shows in the real world. However sarcasm doesn't really work in the online world. I'm also what you would call a huge geek. Yes, that was a fat joke. When I say I'm a geek, I mean it. I'm on the computer all the time, playing, working, or just goobing out on the latest Digg article to make it to the front page. I build and maintain the computers in our home, as well as the network. I do own an iPhone which I use as an eBook reader thanks to Stanza. There's nothing like carrying 143 sci-fi novels in my pocket.
Other interests and hobbies? Well I'm a sci-fi nerd, as you can tell from the novel comment above. I love sci-fi shows, and the occasional anime. Earth: Final Conflict is one I'm watching currently, but I've got a collection that includes classics like Babylon 5 and Star Trek The Next Generation. I have every Star Trek series except the Original (I could never get into it). I also have Andromeda, Xena, Hercules, Scrubs, and many, many, many movies. What's interesting is that with the advent of hulu I never watch TV unless I'm at someone else's house. Hulu let's me keep up with the shows I'm currently interested in, and my second monitor acts as a TV for whatever current series I'm watching.
Games? You bet! I'm a huge gamer. My tastes spin more towards the RPG Genre then anything, but I've been known to deviate. I hold a strange hatred for most FPS games, which I'm not entirely sure I can put into words. On the other hand I've been known to play them, so I'm just a contradiction. My favorites PC games are all by Blizzard, and ones I obsess over a lot. Yes I've even played WoW. I'm also one of the biggest Diablo II nerds you could find, even though I don't play it anymore, I still know a ton about it.
I'm also interested in the Emulation "scene" mainly because my TV is currently stuffed in a corner of my closet and I'm too lazy to drag it out. Replaying old classics with ZSNES (or on my GBA:SP) like Final Fantasy VI (US: III) or Chrono Trigger... or popping in Suikoden, or Final Fantasy VII, VIII, or IX and using my USB to PS2 controller adapter to have fun. A favorite multiplayer (in the room) thing we do is to grab some other PS2 controllers, pop in SSB with Project 64, and just bash the crap out of each other (Mario is truly insane in the original SSB!).
[edit] Intarwebs
You can find me all over the place, along with my websites and services:
Kupax.com - Free File Hosting, focuses on Images for public uploading, however a quick register allows to have 350mb of space and gobs of bandwidth to upload and share anything from funny pictures to school work.
Kupatrix.com - This is my personal website. An on-again-off-again blog that I reskin every few months. I also post to it occasionally, which seems to be a rare occurance, but I have fun with it. A lot of the time Kupatrix serves as a test bed for various web-related things I'm into at the moment. I swear there's still a Drupal installed somewhere on that site.
Kupatrix.net - In the past I used to own all three, Kupatrix.com, .net, and .org. However the .Org was taken from me by one of those lame squatters. Currently Kupatrix.net is just an empty domain at first glance, however if I'm hosting you, then you know you get your own Kupatrix.net subdomain. More recently I've expanded the offer to include a domain from Kupax.com as well.
Sites that aren't mine, but I'm active on:
Blizzforums.com & Nexus (Formally Warboards) - As a member and a moderator at both. Being a geek I also help members with computer issues and questions in their respective computer subforums.
@kupatrix - Yes, I'm on twitter. I've been using it more and more recently.
You can also find me on Facebook, though I'll leave that to the more adventurous ones among you.
[edit] Contact Information
If you need to contact me, I suggest you do so either be Private Messages on either forum, or through email if it's desperate. My email is kupatrix [at] gmail.com. You can try your luck and see if I'm on AIM via AtmaNeo. You can also find me, almost constantly, on the ORG IRC Channel along with my IRC Bot, Neobot.
