[edit] Offline Life
Little is known about Aqo's life outside of online forums and chat rooms. Some say he has none, while others are uncertain. It would appear that Aqo does not go to sleep at the same hours as normal human beings, while maintaining his presence over the #orgnetwork IRC channel. This could be proof for a lack of life, but your best bet would be to come to #orgnetwork and decide for yourself.
Aqo has at least one sibling. A younger sister. He has tried to teach her to speak English by making her read the text messages in Doom 3.
Aqo is also trying to learn how to speak Japanese so he can watch anime without having to wait for subs.
HE IS A TRUE NO LIFE KING
[edit] Starcraft
Most of the people who've heard about him may associate the name with Blizzard's RTS Game, Starcraft. As of now, Aqo's interest in Starcraft is minimal at best, however in the past he was a fully active member in many online Starcraft societies. Back at 2004, Aqo found his way into the Warboards group "The Starchitects", a group of Starcraft mappers and modders. He posted a highly detailed 256*256 terrain at Warboards' map area, which was praised by some of the members. BSTRhino, who was in charge of the Starchitects then, let Aqo into the group without even reviewing his work: BSTRhino: "There's no reason to hold you back judging from the comments here. What can I say AqoTrooper, welcome to the Starchitects!" However, Aqo's activity at the Starchitects was minimal. It seems like just around the time he joined, maybe members were already losing interest and not partaking in the creation of projects. Two projects were made, and then within a year the team has become completely inactive. Some people tried to revive the team, including Aqo, but it go well. Much later by the end of 2006, Aqo talked to BST - who, by then, has rarely been on Warboards, and requested the position of the Starchitects leader to be given to him in order to replace busy BST and try to put the team back to active state. However, Aqo's plan was shattered when very few mappers tried to join the team, and were not up to the level of a traditional SCTS member. With an all-modder team, the only real option was to make a mod; for a month or so, a mod has been in production, but as that time went on people started replying to Aqo's PMs weeks late, and in the end only about two people were active on the team by a reasonable amount. Aqo's attempt to revive the SCTS failed; people no longer had motivation.
SEN used to be clueless about modding until Aqo posted his mod "Spree" over there. At first people accused it of being a hack and illegal, but when explained that Starcraft modding is pretty common and not anything illegal many people at SEN gained interested in the area, and eventually the staff added a modding section. At some point then, SEN formed a mapping and modding team. Aqo got in as a member. The team worked on a map, but as time passed the organization has become loose and some members were not being accounted for. Aqo left the team, saying that he has no interest to be a part of the team when most of it is inactive. The team reformed shortly after.
Having lost interest in mapping and modding, Aqo happened to meet a person who opened a melee tournament for noobs; he decided to join the tourney for fun and giggles. That person also offered anyone who participates practice in the art of Starcraft; Aqo took that chance, and practiced heavily for over 6 months. After that, he stopped playing as much and many of the skill he gained has degraded, although, he kept some of it and applied it to other RTS games that were much lighter and allowed him to dominate "experienced" players there on his first few tries.
At 2005, Aqo ventured into 3D modeling. His first ideas were "haha there's no way I can model like this" (referring to some of the PR-members' models). However, with his little skill, he started working on a graphical Starcraft total conversion mod "Respite of Honor" - ROH. At first it was just a small tryout of various tools he had access to, but the interest increased along with Aqo's increasing ability at modeling, and he decided to really do make a big serious mod; a storyline was composed, with some general ideas for a campaign, and three new races were designed. ROH was under production for over two years with on/off work. It has gone far beyond Aqo's original planning, but far behind his expectations by the end of it. ROH had several alpha releases that were playtested online, revealing a new interesting gameplay. The project is currently being delayed until Disciple of Adun decides to release a version of his program - Firegraft - that's compatible with Starcraft's latest patch.
Aqo is currently the most experienced GRP-creator, having created over 200 high-quality GRPs either for his own projects or by request. If you wish to add new graphics for your Starcraft mod, you may feel free to PM AqoTrooper at Warboards and request a GRP to be made, he will accept almost any request.
[edit] Trivia
- Aqo is a Russian-Israeli, which means he was born in Russia but lives in Israel. He, thus, speaks three languages - Russian, Hebrew, English.
- Aqo has been a programmer ever since he was 7. As of today. he works on miscellaneous programs for freeware release.
- The name "AqoTrooper" was created when battle.net did not accept "AquaTrooper". The "Trooper" part lost its value in a year, along with the relation to "aqua". Aqo is solely known as Aqo now, not to be mistaken with a common noob mistype: "ago"
