[edit] Tinkered with that copyright notice
Did it bug anyone else? DO NOT SUBMIT COPYRIGHTED WORK WITHOUT PERMISSION! FFS you'd think the wiki was going to bomb your computer or something. I edited that out and replaced it with something else. -Neo 02:25, 19 April 2006 (CDT)
- That bothers me but no one usually cares, especially at Uncyclopedia, but at Wikipedia they're serious as hell about it... -- LinkTheGameFreak Bitch here 12:34, 25 April 2006 (CDT)
- Pfft. It was just annoying me. Commen sense please? Besides, where are you gonna copyright info about warcraft.org from? This wiki is mainly for the ORG Network and related stuff... its not like some official thingy >_> --Neo 14:43, 25 April 2006 (CDT)
[edit] Starter links
Could we possibly have "starter" links into the wiki on the front page? I'm just thinking about people who are seeing the wiki for the first time or so, if they go to the front page they won't see how to get into the rest of the content. The first two sections of the ORG Network article are really good at that, they lead you into the categories and the sites, within each of which, you can begin exploring. Just currently there's no path to get from the main page to any of the pages inside the wiki, so you'd just have to know what to search for. --BSTRhino 04:11, 21 April 2006 (CDT)
- I made Category:Categories, it's a start I guess :) --Sarah K 07:35, 21 April 2006 (CDT)

[edit] Starter Links
Added a couple, just a quick job. --Neo 12:55, 21 April 2006 (CDT)
[edit] Edit Cheatsheet
Can someone help to fill it out? I was hoping to include all the templates on it, as well as add a little more info to it, such as you can |left|thumb| images and I don't think it mentions that, as well as the odd ball templates we've started to accumulate... THanks. --Neo 18:33, 21 April 2006 (CDT)
[edit] Edited//Added to the Sidebar
Added some links to the sidebar...! :D --Neo 20:03, 21 April 2006 (CDT)
[edit] StarCraft stuff a waste of time
Better to just forget this place and improve on the Wikipedia articles really, no point in reinventing the wheel as Neo seems to want us to. I spent ages reformatting Template:StarCraft and Template:Blizzard Entertainment to work here (this wiki is running an old version which sucks basically) and he just deleted it... whatever.. It really is pointless anyway as I said. Sarah K 18:40, 28 April 2006 (CDT)
- This is the Wiki for the ORG Network, not StarCraft. I can't understand why you didn't find that copmpletely obvious. The Main Page alone practically screams ORG Network. How did you get the idea this was only about StarCraft? --Protoss_Honor 20:34, 28 April 2006 (CDT)
- I understand what she is getting at, at first i thought this would be adding to the wikipedia site about DOT.org. However, we can't just rip stuff of wiki.
I undestand what Sarah K means, but i can also see that we can't just give up, this is a good place for newbs to find out what the network is all about.--Ktan 04:05, 29 April 2006 (CDT)
- It seems it's mostly about ego-inflating than anything else, very little content to do with the actual games the ORG websites are about, and a lot about themselves and forum drama. *Shrug* Pretty boring Sarah K 05:48, 29 April 2006 (CDT)
- Sarah K you seem to have completely missed the point of this Wiki.
- This is a place for ORG Network Members and Visitors to contribute to. Not to just rip shit from Wikipedia to put up here. See theres a difference between using something like the Wikipedia's starcraft article (which could be fine) and trying to rip off everything about Starcraft on Wikipedia.
- Oh and FYI: Wikipedia is a custom programmed Mediawiki. Of course this one isn't the same. It is however the latest version of MediaWiki, so dont act as if I am incompetant using some 5 year old wiki software.
- You ripped those templates off Wikipedia -- wtf -- where you going to copy every one of the articles that those link to as well? You do realize that you can use something called 'InterWiki Linking' right? This wiki isn't just going to have half its content ripped from Wikipedia, it supposed to be original!
- Link to the wikipedia article about starcraft from the ORG Wiki's starcraft page -- dont fucking rip off the entire article and related content from Wikipedia. Any game articles on this wiki need to be written by someone from the ORG Network -- at least to be original. There is no use copying Wikipedia's stuff, why? Just to keep people on this wiki? How lame is that?
- Oh, and if this was about EGO, I would've just banned you awhile ago. You complain enough about anything I seem to do, and are very ungrateful. I mean what the hell? I try to do something nice, and you bitch at me about it, or find something wrong with it!
- Oh, and guess what? We have links to Starcraft.org and the other sites. Where the games are covered. It seems kind of pointless to mirror the information from Starcraft.org here. But you see, I don't really mind or care what you do with the wiki -- within reason. We will not have all the content about every game (whether its something from blizzard, or not) be ripped from Wikipedia. Just because you CAN copy it and use it elsewhere doesn't mean we will.
- Sarah K -- bitch and complain all you want -- but this wiki is not to mirror things from Wikipedia. If you were truly interested in a game, you would write something up about yourself. For instance, you could write up an article on Sarah Kerrigan -- who she is, where she came from, what role she played in Starcraft/BW, etc...
- This wiki isn't starcraft-only anyways, more then likely I will be adding entries about different final fantasys, maybe even entries on the Star Trek series. Its a place to write stuff about... your favorite stuff!
- Is that clear enough? I mean should I color it in a H1? Yes this wiki carrys a lot of information about the history of the ORG Network and *gasp* forums and stuff that you would term "forum drama" -- But guess what? That is kind of why its here... to cover forum history and stuff. It was originally called the Warboards Wiki (logo still says that!)... At any rate, you don't have to contribute if you don't want to. I would hate to push you away from the wiki, but it seems as if you aren't interested in writing anything yourself, instead you seem to just want to copy stuff. Protoss Honor, Ktan, Myself, even BSTRhino and others have all managed to add original content to this wiki... why can't you?
- --Neo 15:15, 29 April 2006 (CDT)
Forum drama make dot.Org what it is. I believe instead of just copy and pasting from wiki, we should have written up our own explaination to the game and then done inter-wiki linking as Neo said. Don't really want to take sides in this, but that's my 2 pence.--Ktan 08:54, 30 April 2006 (CDT)
[edit] Warboards.org constantly offline
Anyone know what's up?
Warboards.org is currently giving "domain cannot be found" errors. All other websites work fine, and I've tried it at different computers/internet connections (at college and library) so it's not just me........
it was doing it yesterday too but appeared fixed later Sarah K 02:27, 4 May 2006 (CDT)
There was DNS problems. They've been fixed. Kongurous 16:24, 5 May 2006 (CDT)
