Expansion pack released by Blizzard for StarCraft. It is sold as part of the "Starcraft Battle Chest" at most game stores for roughly $20 USD. Usually called "BW" or just "SC". The original Starcraft is usually called Vanilla SC.
Brood War brought seven new units, three new campaigns, and numerous updates to Starcraft at its release in 1999. It has since won "Expansion pack of the year" from many gaming publications.
