From ORG Wiki
Created in 2007 immediately following the announcement of Blizzard's StarCraft 2, StarCraft2forum.org has become one of the premiere StarCraft 2 fansites. Boasting the most robust StarCraft 2 forum community and a major player in reporting StarCraft 2 news, the site has built quite a following. [edit] History
StarCraft2forum.org is centered around creating an outstanding North American community for the release of StarCraft 2 and is dedicated to helping shape the outcome of Blizzard's next great title. Designed for the ordinary user, and not focused on the game as an eSport, but rather as an entertainment source for StarCraft's millions of fans, StarCraft2forum.org is a friendly community and continues to grow its presence in the StarCraft 2 market.
[edit] The SMF Stage
StarCraft2forum.org was originally coded utilizing the Simple Machine Forums format, including its front page. Its original logo was simply a text rendering. The original forum had a robust shop and great activity as well as a number of legendary StarCraft 2 theorists including Remy, Nikzad, Fenix, ArchLimit, mc2, sc2forums, and Joneagle_X. With outstanding news coverage and after joining Blizzard's StarCraft 2 FSP program, StarCraft2Forum.org was well under way.
[edit] The vBulletin Move
In April of 2008, 'StarCraft2forum.org made a large jump to a vBulletin backend coupled with a Subdreamer frontend, the result of which is the format you see today. A contemporary logo redesign has resulted in a much more modern look for the site and has contributed greatly to improvements in content as StarCraft2forum.org prepares for the launch of StarCraft 2 beta and the game itself. In the absence of sc2forums as the site's administrator, Joneagle_X moved into residence as the site's webaster, and continues its management today.
it is important to note though, that not all members were happy with this move, since it deleted a large part of the threads in the social board and some functions werent available to normal members anymore
[edit] ORG Network
In October, 2008, StarCraft2forum.org joined the prestigious ORG Network as a community partner and continues in that role to this day.
