Online roleplaying is a form of storytelling, where one person or a group gets together and tells the story of a character in a predefined plot or setting. Roleplaying is not limited to good writers, and can be learned and improved upon. Roleplays are commonly reffered to as "RPs".

See Wikipedia's article on Play-by-post gaming for more information.

Structure of an RP
Roleplaying often has a structure that sets certain limits to the game. These limits are set by a GM, a Game Master, who also makes sure that the RP does not go off course and that no one breaks the rules.
At the creation of an RP, the GM sets up a thread. There, roleplayers can join or sign up for an RP and post their characters that will be in the Roleplay. GM's can vary the sign up process, characters may have to be pre-approved before they can join, or the GM may specify a certain group that can play in the RP. Within the thread, The GM gives a setting or plot for the RP. Sometimes the settings an/or plots are incredibly detailed, and specific, other times they are open and uspecific, allowing the RPer to create what he wants, with only some limitations. Other times they are some where in the middle, not too strict, but not too open either.

The Roleplaying forum is home to all of Warboards.org RPers. This the only forum to have its very own awards. Those awards include, but are not limited to,
