GroG has been playing StarCraft:Brood Wars, Warcraft, and Diablo for a very long time. He's met many people under his varying account names on Battle.net and his years of gaming. While not a smurfer by nature, his long life of playing games has caused him to use a few different accounts over the years.

GroG originated from a channel called Clan Justus years ago. He then followed a few friends to a channel called Clan LHQ, then to channel Blizzforums, and finally to OP SWBK. He mostly plays SC and WC3 these days, and is always looking for a fun game of melee. He prefers 1v1 and 2v2.
[edit] Early days on Warboards
GroG originally migrated to Warboards when Blizzforums stopped being active. He posted mostly in the WC3 forums, looking for 1v1's and 2v2's. He made the successful switch from Orc to UD in solo ladder, and managed to get ranked 827 on East/Azeroth, at Level 28. He also wrote a strategy guide for UD, which received some praise.
GroG's mentality was not that of the typical player. What he lacked in speed he made up for in ingenuity. He made it a point to play smart and tricky, to creepjack and hide expansions whenever he could. His smart play style and helpful personality helped him earn some friends at Warboards.

Later on in his posting days, GroG would become a moderator after RedRagToAnOrc's and GenocideAlive's retirement from WC3. GroG started a WC3 Pro News section and continued posting replays of his games and exploits. Unfortunately the forum seems to be less active than it used to be.
Nowadays, GroG is a global moderator. He mostly keeps to posting mostly in the gaming forums and the Programming forum, in which he submits small tutorials or entries in the monthly programming contest. GroG is a .NET developer in the real world, so he likes doing small projects to keep fresh with his knowledge and to showboat a bit, which is always fun. He also has just begun RPing, with his mildly succesful RP The Rise of Subterranea. This has allowed him a small outlet for some creative writing, which GroG enjoys.
GroG also likes to joke around, usually cracking jokes at Black.Ice and Neo. Recently with Neo being absent, Modred has filled nicely as someone to poke fun at.

GroG is a graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelors in Management Information Systems in May 2008. He now works as a consultant for an IT company in Des Moines Iowa. He like programming in VB.NET, C#, and T-SQL. He is currently studying for his first SQL Server certification exam. GroG also enjoys playing his Wii - he and his wife spend many hours playing Mario Kart Wii, and he also dabbles in Super Smash Bros Brawl. He also recently received Resident Evil 4 for X-Mas, so he's looking forward to loggin some hours on that.
