Basan was initially dragged over to WarBoards from Starcraft.org by Gia' who alluded to him that the tactics debates over Starcraft.org were lowering it already low level and enticed him to it (mostly 'cause he agreed with that statement) and he came over. Thus, he started lurking around the place for a month after making his account. And only then he started posting and only in the SC-BW sections. Later on he got curious to know more about the rest of the forum n' it's members and started looking around in the other sections, being the ones that grabbed more his eye the Members Lounge, Technology Annex and the Intellectual Roundtable. He later on quit posting in the "IR" due to the lack of time that he felt needed to post appropriately in that area. His interest expanded even a tad more and so he started skimming through other sections and that got him to buy the WC3-TFT more out of curiosity than anything else. Being a participant in several areas of the forum, he got nominated for the '06 awards in some categories which is highly suspected to have snatched AJ's attention. When Hotshot abruptly left the Map Forge's moderation he was mysteriously asked by AJ to talk to him through Messenger in 20/Feb'/'07, although he was clueless to the said staff member having stepped down. Thus he started as the Map Forge junior moderator back then. Also, he was promoted to global mod' status (in 09/August/'07). He was the assigned moderator of the Warcraft Town Hall shortly after (along with the World of Warcraft one) until the Feb' 18th (of 2008) when he and AJ somewhat reached an agreement that due to his new job in Portugal's outskirts he had to step down.
Many may remember him as the Karma dealing whore (in that thread made by Black.Ice) or the "Cat picture fan" one (even though he "likes his bitch a lot more than his pussy" :P). That picture usage was a fling that he got to lighten up the mood when closing threads and also has been using those humourous pictures in similar jestful acts. He is also a mapper for both SC-BW and "WC3-TFT" (even though kinda retired), but still he has more experience with SC-BW. As most members from WarBoards he tries to assist others the best he can, when possible (read, when he's not too grouchy, tired or without patience although those usually aren't noticed by most members).
It's known from scouring previous n' old posts of his. That his job is the U.S. safety engineer equivalent, even though he doesn't speak much about it 'cause he praises his anonymous stance that has been keeping him dissociated from anyone from his real life job environments to know who he is. Some of his closer friends do know how the nickname he uses has came to be but they rarely bring it up. Quite a mysterious and full of humour guy, just trying to cheer things up in Warboards and try to aid it's member base to keep it a joyful and enticing place to hang out. Basan's Public Profile
